Types of NEMT Rides

The routine ride is a one-day trip service that may include a return or stop and is available with Mobility/​Ambulatory Vehicle and Wheelchair Van. Members may choose the routine ride for multiple appointments on the same day. Plan your ride at least two days before the day of your trip.

Regularly recurring rides are to set up rides for scheduled appointments for up to three months at a time that may include a return or stop and are available with Mobility/​Ambulatory Vehicle and Wheelchair Van. Members may choose the regularly recurring rides for multiple appointments on the same day or another day. Plan your rides at least two days before the day of your trip.

Long-Distance Medical Transport is a one-day trip service for an appointment anywhere in Colorado that may include a return or stop and are available with Mobility/​Ambulatory Vehicle and Wheelchair Van. And your travel, meals, and lodging may be covered by the NEMT program. Members may choose Long-Distance Medical Transport for multiple appointments on the same day. Plan your rides at least two days before the day of your trip.

Urgent transportation is needed to receive necessary medical services when a member needs medical help without providing advanced notice to a transportation provider, but not for emergencies. It may include an Urgent Care and Trauma Center. Or when a member needs transportation after discharge from a hospital, failure of a transportation provider to pick up a member from a medical appointment within one hour of the scheduled pick-up time. And transportation to and from critical, unplanned medical appointments.

Discharge Transportation is a one-day trip service for medical facility discharge that may include a stop and are available with Mobility/​Ambulatory Vehicle and Wheelchair Van. You can request the discharge transportation service, or your healthcare provider or medical facility staff can request it on your behalf, and we may accept your trip within 2 hours before your pickup time. It relies on driver availability.
